Their nutritional value is excellent:
Black Soldier Fly larvae can contain up to 43% protein and 30% fat, making them an excellent source of calcium and amino acids. The reason they are packed with so much energy is simple: before they become flies, these larvae consume twice their body weight in food each day.
Cleaner food production is faster and cheaper:
Any animal raised for its meat must be a clean source of food, both before and after processing. When we consider raising poultry or cattle, it requires a lot of time, money, and effort to turn their meat into a clean and edible product. This process is much quicker and easier with BSF larvae, as their digestive processes kill any bacteria they may encounter in their food, regardless of what they consume.
Their reproduction rate is far above average:
A fly can easily lay up to 500 eggs at once, whereas a chicken typically lays only about 200 eggs per year. Additionally, these flies live only six weeks, which makes their reproduction cycle even more efficient.
They require far less feed to produce more protein:
Black Soldier Fly larvae excel at converting feed into food. While producing 1 kg of beef requires about 10 kg of feed, BSFL need only around 1.5 kg of feed to produce 1 kg of protein!
BSFL farming is efficient:
Black Soldier Fly larvae prefer high-density environments and occupy far less space than other animals (1 ton of BSFL can be raised in a space the size of a SMART car), with much less impact on the environment. They produce absolutely zero waste since their residues are used as feed for California Red Worms, which in turn produce Supreme Vermicompost.
They do not transmit diseases:
Adult flies do not have a digestive system, making them so efficient that no bacteria remain in their waste once they have digested it.
